presentation 2 charles harris

The next presentation was one that I liked very much because I know I do this activity all the time. This activity is called eating out fast food restaurants. The groups topic was fast food restaurants and the ill effects they have on the people who consume their products. They started off with randam fact everyone is used to hearing because we have all turned on the new and heard burger king now has the largest quantity of calories in one meal or one drink. The group brought up and important fact that it is much cheaper for a family to buy fast food for their families than to buy healthy food from a grocery store. This is probly the biggest contributing factor to this fast food epidemic. If it is cheaper how can you blame a parents for feeding her child that especially if that’s all the parents can afford. With this in mind they came up with a solution the government needs to have a program where they decrease healthy groceries for people who cannot afford them this program would be exclusive to those families consider obese by the health department. This can help the problem America faces as being the fattest country on earth because we eat a lot of unhealthy food. They also talked about things like exercising which definitely will help and I think most people are on board for. Overall I thought they did a great job on the project and had great substance.

Since I wasn’t able to stay after I presented and since my group went first I was forced to go to another classes presentations on a different day. The first one I saw was about gays and the problems they face in this country while also being abused in some cases. They started out saying they it is very hard living as a gay because it not accepted in most communities and therefore it was only make sense that it would be hard. They talking about things like people thinking stds is more prone to gays than any other type of people which has still not been proven. I learned a lot about gay people while listening to their blog and they had a lot of eye opening facts about gays which I did remember word for word so I wont state because I don’t have the facts. But most of all I think they open peoples eyes up who don’t like gay just because there gay. The presentation made us look at them in a different way. The bottom line is there people just like us at the end of the day so they deserve to be treated like the regular people they are. They ended on this note sexuality is not a choice they is just randomly picked in a persons life so how would you feel if someone in your family was gay would you treat them any different than a gay who was not family ?

Michael Carney (Group Presentation 2)

This was the  best presenation it iwas very eye catching and the information was great. The title of this presentation is does the death penalty have a positive or negative effect within a state? Some of the facts about the death penalty are that it was first established in the 18th century B.C. They would perform  hangings, drowning, beatings, and burning to death. A very interesting  fact about this presentation is that the death penalty is the most expensive punishment. Over $1 million is spent and majority of people who are sentenced with the death penalty are white. The conclusion of this presentation is that it cost states more money to kill them than just holding them as prisoners.  There has been controversy over this topic for years and I disagree with it completely! I do  think there should be a death penalty because if you do the crime I feel as though you should suffer, howvere suffer in prison instead of dying . In my opinion they are giving the crminal the easy way out. This presentation was great and very informative.

Michael Carney (Group Presentaion 1 )

I  watched a presentation on Breast Cancer Research. The group was to answer the question of how the Susan G. Coleman foundation impacted Breast Cancer Research? They they delivered some informative information about breast cancer and the Susan G. Coleman foundation. The Susan G. Coleman foundation was founded by t Susan G. Coleman soon after Susan died with breast cancer. In her honor, her sister decided to strive to find more information about breast cancer, how to prevent it, what causes it and how it can be treated.  The three main side effects include nervous exhaustion, anxiety and depression. The factors that determine treatment include the type of breast cancer and the stage that the breast cancer is diagnosed in. I was informed that even men can have breast cancer and go through the same thing as women. Since the Susan G. Coleman foundation the world has been more in tune with this deadly disease and with there help they are emphazing help.
